Em’s Hair Secrets

I always get asked about my hair. Especially about my hair color. Sorry ladies, but this is my natural hair color. I have never died my hair, but I do have some secrets I think will be useful to you for beautiful hair.

1. Massage your scalp.

My hair grows really fast. I think part of it is genetic but I also think it is also because of some things I do. This biggest one and massaging my scalp. It is actually really relaxing. By doing this you are stimulating your hair follicles and it makes your hair grow.

2. Don’t apply heat everyday.

I don’t straighten or curl my hair everyday. I don’t even use a blow dryer unless if I just don’t have time to let my hair air dry. If you do have to use heat, invest in a good heat protectant. One to the hairstyles I do often that doesn’t require heat is a simple french braid, you can check out my post about how to do this hairstyle by clicking here.

3. Use a wide toothed comb.

When I get out of the shower I always brush my hair (GENTLY) with my wide toothed comb. Don’t use a brush it can break your hair and damage it especially when it’s wet.

4. Don’t wash your hair everyday.

Still shower but just wear a shower cap. If you wash your hair too much it will strip your hair of its natural oils. By not washing your hair everyday your natural oils nourish your hair. If you have a problem with oily hair, invest in some good dry shampoo.

5. Condition.

Okay so this is obvious, but I have a certain process and way of doing this. When I am in the shower I first shampoo my hair on my roots only, then I rinse immediately. I then condition my hair, from the neck down, and I let it soak in till the end of my shower.

6. Satin/Silk pillowcase.

I will always have a silk or satin pillowcase. I could never go back to a regular cotton one. Not only will this pillowcase prevent damage to your hair, but it also helps prevent wrinkles and damage to your skin. Its a win win right?!

7. Suave Shampoo and Conditioner.

I have used tons of shampoo and conditioner, but honestly this shampoo and conditioner is the best. It makes my hair smell, feel, and look amazing. Its a win win too because it is only $4.98 each at Walmart.

8. Vitamins and nutrients

I don’t take vitamins all the time, but I do eat lots of fruit and veggies. I always have. I love just about every fruit and vegetable. Vitamins do help strengthen your hair, make it shiny, and grow. I don’t have to because my hair grows so fast, but take biotin! That always helps!

Thank y’all so much for reading. Feel free to comment and ask questions. Have a blessed day!

XOXO
